Environmental Management
Racional follows sustainable construction practices that minimize the impacts of its activities on the environment. The company adopts a structured Environmental Management process, which ensures waste management, black smoke measurement, external noise monitoring, and dust control as well as water and electricity consumption control and the adoption of sustainability criteria in selecting suppliers, among others.
In line with best market practices, Racional seeks to build LEED certified construction projects. Known as the "green building" certification, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is performed by the Green Building Council, a nongovernmental organization which developed the globally accepted and internationally recognized LEED rating system.
The LEED certification is granted only after completion of the construction project and once all requirements have been met and a minimum score achieved. A building can be certified in one of the following LEED ratings: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Certified.
